The process of a clearance
The cost of a property clearance and the amount of time it takes is completely dependent on the amount of items you have and what they are. It's difficult for us to give you an accurate quote without seeing the property or at least having a detailed chat with you before hand.
- Contact us -we are happy to talk through the process with you and we will arrange a time and date for a visit to the property for an evaluation. Alternatively if you only have a few items to clear you can email photographs to email@example.com and we will reply as soon as possible.
- Personalised quote- After seeing some photographs/ meeting with either you or a representative at the property, we will be able to work out the cost of the clearance, taking into account the value of the items that need to be cleared.
- It's up to you! We will wait for you to decide if you would like to go ahead with the clearance and if so, agree on a date. -You will not need to be present on the day of the clearance, as long as we have access to the property we will go ahead following your instructions.
- Completion- The properties keys will be returned to you, your solicitor, estate agent or other representative. Any items that would like to keep will be delivered from the property clearance to you or to your relatives/friends. If requested, items will be returned to our office for storage or taken to auction houses to be sold on your behalf.
Types of clearances
Probate: In the unfortunate event of a loved one or friend passing away, we can prepare the property ready to be sold or passed on. We work with local solicitors and estate agents everyday, if you require professional help please let us know and we will be happy to recommend a few individuals to you.
Bereavement clearances can be difficult, but as experts in this field, we will make the whole process as stress free as possible. We have also created a handy Probate Guide for any questions you may have.
Resalable items: If some of your items are in good condition and hold some value, we will make allowances against the final cost of the clearances transport and labour.
Waste: Our team specialises in probate house clearances and contents valuations, but that doesn't mean we can't help you out by clearing out some odd rubbish!
As a registered company, we are charged by the local tips to dispose of your waste. Please note that there will be additional charges for special category waste:

Computer monitor/ Tv: £12.50
Gas bottles: £10

Valuations, advice & quotes
We are able to assist in the valuation of all manner of items that may be within a property, including full contents valuations for probate requirements following a bereavement. We have close connections with legal teams around the area but are naturally happy to work with whoever may be representing you or your family.
We are very experienced in this particular area of work and all valuation instructions are undertaken in the strictest of confidence and in a very professional, sympathetic and understanding manner.
We are always happy to advise you and provide a full written quote for free no matter what you are asking us to deal with.
We can also value just one or two items that are taking up too much room in your house and we may be interested in buying from you.
Removals and deliveries
We are available to quote competitively for a very personally tailored and sympathetic removal service with attention to detail and quality of service.
Alongside this, we are able to offer short, mid and long term storage facilities to make your move as smooth as possible.
We also offer an excellent bespoke delivery service for special or delicate items that really deserve individual treatment from people who know what they are doing.

We also offer Office and commercial relocation services to businesses who are relocating or downsizing/ up-sizing.
We are able to offer short, mid and long term storage at our address in Melksham, Wiltshire to assist property clearances, moving home, relocation abroad, property re-development or if you just require some extra space at home. -We regularly store household furniture and valuable personal belongings.
Our property is safe, secure and fully insured.
If required we can also collect and deliver your items. Collection of items by you or a representative by appointment only.
£15 per four weeks for a 40 cubic ft storage space.
Minimum booking of 80 cubic feet.
Price includes insurance up to £500. An additional charge will apply if items have a higher value: +£3.50 per £500 value.
We are always looking to buy in interesting collectable, antique or vintage items. Items that you, perhaps, no longer have need or room for, or would simply just like to sell. We offer a reliable service and transparent advice on the best way forward for you to gain the most out of your possessions.
We have strong connections with local auction houses so can also give you all the necessary advice and arrange all transportation and paperwork on your behalf should you choose to sell at auction.

Recycling and charities
We at Ashton Mill believe strongly in recycling and charitable donations wherever possible. We will always separate recyclable materials from your rubbish and also work closely with local community groups and charities trying to fulfil their needs for all sorts of items. Please make us aware if you would like certain items to go to charity and we will always do our very best to oblige.
